Postdoc Funding 2012/2013

The deadline for submission of postdoc funding grants for 2012-13 is past.

We received 22 complete applications. The breakdown according to topic was the following:

    Past Ocean: 5 applications
    Evolving Ocean: 5 applications
    Dangerous Ocean: 4 applications
    Ocean Interfaces: 3 applications
    Ocean Sinks: 2 applications
    Ocean Resources: 1 application
    Our Ocean: 1 application
    Ocean Prediction: 1 application

The applications have been sent to the parties responsible for the respective topics for a first review. An external review is in progress. A decision will be announced in mid September.

Aim of the grant is to jump-start phase II research topics and have a head start at the beginning of phase II. Proposals therefore have to be in line with the phase II research topics.

Start of Funding: 31.10.2011 (official end of the cluster)

Funding frame: 2 years (1 year within the transition phase 2012 + 1year in phase II 2013)

Proposal Deadline: 01.05.2011

Open to all Postdocs of the Future Ocean Cluster.

Preconditions:

-          Postdoc status at the start of the funding period

-          The Postdoc has to be a member/associated Member of the Cluster

– you must be recommended for membership by a current Cluster Member!

-          The Postdoc has to be a member of the Postdoc/Research Fellow Network (http://www.ozean-der-zukunft.de/das-netzwerk/post-doc-network/) (Postdocs which are members of the Cluster are automatically members of the Network but must register. E-mail to Nancy Smith)

Funding Value:

-          2 year position (Post-Doc)

-          Max 35 000€ consumables (restricted to year 1, in year2 consumables will be given according to available phase II money)

4 pages A4 proposal + references, Arial 10 pt. font, English language,

CV, publication list
