e-Content Production

Producing e-learning content integrates competences from the field of interest (e.g. ocean sciences), media design and didactics and technical skills. The question is how to organize and coordinate the several competences for a given project with minimized financial effort and time for our customers - the lecturers?

To this end we deploy short-term satellite teams to pool competences and resources. These teams are made up of content experts (lecturer) and members of the ISOS e-learning group. Project outcome are single e-content components to complement classical educational scenarios.

Typically, a team consists of the author/lecturer together with a student assistant familiar with the respective research area and assisted by a ISOS e-learning group member. All project activities are mediated by the ISOS e-learning coordinator. E-learning group members may be active in several projects.

Additionally, in cooperation with experts in media production and didactics at the CAU, we pool resources for an efficient and sustainable use of capacity within the university.

This structure allows for several projects in parallel and for an effective service by ISOS. Some projects examples can be found in our current project list.

The average duration of these projects is about four week full time for a student assistant (HiWi). ISOS funds and supports these student assistants for project duration.
