Seafloor Warming: Research aims

The junior research group is conducting a more detailed investigation into the far-reaching consequences of seafloor warming presented above. This investigation focuses in particular on determining how rapidly the warming of the sea floor is progressing and how this is affecting the gas hydrates and the ecosystem. The scientists conduct field studies in arctic waters. The reason for this is that we are already observing warming of the water on the sea floor in the arctic.
