Institute for World Economics (IfW)
The Institute for World Economics at the University of Kiel (IfW) is one of the large centres for global economic research, consultation on economic policies, economic education and documentation for economic science. The institute's main aims are to conduct research into innovative solutions for pressing global economic problems. On the basis of this research, it acts as a consultant to decision-makers in politics, the economy and the community and informs interested members of the public on important backgrounds of economic policy. In its function as a gateway to the world of global economic research, it nurtures a broad network of national and international experts, whose research either directly or indirectly feeds into the research and consultation activities within the institute. The Institute for World Economics lays a particular emphasis on economic education and further education and has the largest library collection on economic science and social sciences in the world.

Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts
The three areas of fine art, spatial strategies and design, the interdisciplinary nature of the courses, the centres for media and theory, and modern, project-oriented bachelor's and master's courses in small, easily manageable groups, all combine to give the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts its trend-setting profile.
