The Izaak Walton Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship

The partner university of CAU, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, offers a postdoctoral fellowship, the Izaak Walton Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship that is open to international applicants. •    Tenure of the fellowship: two years
•    Starting date: between May 1st 2012 and January 15th 2013 (preferably by September 15th 2012)
•    Deadline for application: December 15th 2011
•    Salary: $ 44,000 CAD / year
•    Research Grant:  $ 3,000 CAD / 2 years
•    Conference Travel Grant:  $ 1,000 CAD / 2 years
•    Transportation Grant: economy airfare for the Fellow and spouse direct route from place of residence (no grant for transport of children)
•    Applicants must have the PhD within two years of starting the fellowship (not before January 2010)

The Banting Postdoc Fellowship is a Canada-wide fellowship for Canadian and international postdocs. Below is some basic information about the fellowships. More information about how to apply can be found at http://banting.fellowships-bourses.gc.ca.

•    Starting date: between April  1st 2012 and October 1st 2012
•    Application available starting in mid-August 2011
•    Deadline for application: November 2nd  2011
•    Notification March 2012
•    Salary: $ 70,000 CAD / year
•    PhD must have been awarded between November 3 2008 and December 31 2011 (some exceptions for child care leave, illnesses)
